Presentation: 25 Years of Restoration and Research at Olmstead Woods
Twenty five years ago, the Olmsted Woods, the last five acres of forest at the Washington National Cathedral, faced significant challenges due to drought, stormwater runoff, and the broader impacts of climate change and urban development. Andropogon Associates, Ltd. and Meliora Design were tasked with developing a plan to protect and restore the area.
This week, the team be presenting the successes and challenges faced over 25 years of continuous work on this five-acre site at the PA-DE ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture. Richard Farella, PE, CFM and Michele Adams, along with José Almiñana from Andropogon, will share lessons learned from this fascinating case study.
