Introduction
Meliora works both independently and directly with owners on planning assignments, and as part of a larger, integrated team on campus-wide master planning projects. Planning typically demands a “long view,” taking into account everything from a site’s history, physical characteristics and composition, available utility infrastructure, adjacent uses, neighborhood context, comprehensive owner development goals, and potential community impact, if applicable. Within the category of planning, we have completed a range of projects, from park, campus, and museum master plans to plans that address owner-specific needs. Our plans always include recommendations for sustainable development in concert with a practical, cost-effective approach to future growth that takes into account such factors as zoning, permitting, site circulation, parking, utilities, stormwater management, and historic and cultural resource protection.
